12.6 - Logging data or application consumption

Description

Simpl shall collect at least following metrics during the consumption of a data or application resource by a consumer, and store them in the consumer’s local agent database/repository to give the consumer a view on its consumption:

  • the data volume that is being used
  • the type of data
  • the reason for transferring
  • the transfer speeds
  • the latency
  • the number of missed internet packets

Simpl shall also link these metrics to the environmental impact of the data transfer, such that consumers can evaluate the climate impact of their actions.
