Simpl-Live Feasibility Study – Consolidated Report and Generic Dissemination Material

The Simpl-Live Feasibility Study Consolidated Report and its accompanying Generic Dissemination Material are now available. These documents present the outcomes of the feasibility studies conducted throughout 2024, which examined how selected European data initiatives willc integrate Simpl-Open, the open-source middleware developed under the Simpl Programme.

The study assessed the integration of Simpl-Open into six data spaces and initiatives: the Public Procurement Data Space (PPDS), the European Health Data Space for Secondary Use of Data (EHDS2), the Language Data Space (LDS), the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), Destination Earth (DestinE), and the Smart Communities Data Space (SCDS).

Simpl-Live focuses on deploying and integrating Simpl-Open into concrete, sector-specific data spaces across Europe. It operationalises Simpl-Open by working directly with data space initiatives to define integration scenarios, assess feasibility, and guide implementation. At its core, Simpl-Live delivers three key objectives:

Support the analysis of future implementation: Through feasibility studies, Simpl-Live helps data spaces evaluate how Simpl-Open can meet their specific needs and requirements.
Define integration scenarios and roadmaps: For each data space, Simpl-Live defines tailored integration scenarios and roadmaps, ensuring a smooth and strategic deployment of Simpl-Open in the selected data space initiatives.
Feedback into Simpl-Open: By working closely with the data space initiatives, Simpl-Live gathers common requirements and insights to be considered and prioritised by Simpl-Open for its development.

Together, the Consolidated Report and Dissemination Material offer a summary of the feasibility study’s key insights, integration scenarios, and next steps for the implementation of Simpl-Open.

Looking ahead to 2025, the selected data spaces will soon move forward with the implementation of Simpl-Open, based on the integration scenarios defined during the feasibility studies under Simpl-Live.
