In 2025, Simpl-Live feasibility studies were expanding with five additional initiatives: Common European Energy Data Space (CEEDS), Common European Agricultural Data Space (CEADS), European Mobility Data Space (EMDS), Green Deal Data Space (GDDS), along with the EuroCloud initiative, represent diverse sectors facing a shared challenge: reducing their carbon footprint through the optimisation of resources and sector‑specific activities.

Common European Energy Data Space (CEEDS)

Supports innovative energy services aligned with sustainability goals, promoting sector integration.

Common European Agriculture Data Space (CEADS)

Optimizes natural resource use and stimulates data-driven innovations in agriculture by facilitating data sharing.

European Mobility Data Space (EMDS)

Enhances efficiency, safety and sustainability by data access, pooling, and sharing in transport.

Green Deal Data Spaces (GDDS)

Enables access to environmental and climate data for a sustainable Europe by creating a data ecosystem.

European Public Sector Cloud Federation (EuroCloud)

Enables secure, sovereign cloud infrastructure for European businesses and institutions by building a trusted, interoperable digital ecosystem.

Phase 1 Feasibility Study - Under Review

The Simpl-Live feasibility studies for four data spaces (CEADS, CEEDS, GDDS, EMDS) have been completed.

While the Study reports are currently under validation, the key outcomes per data space, together with the high-level integration proposals, have been consolidated in the Simpl-Live wave-2 Studies high-level conclusions.

Simpl-Live wave-2 high-level conclusions

For GDDS, the study defines a flexible integration approach, showing that integration is feasible through multiple connection pathways. The main points of attention are federation, identity, and policy management within a system-of-systems architecture deployed through a phased roadmap.

In CEEDS, Simpl-Open is identified as a core enabler of EU-level federation services, confirming the feasibility of integration. The main points of attention are catalogue federation, identity, interoperability across national platforms, and the setup of federated governance and onboarding.

For CEADS, the study shows that integration with Simpl-Open is feasible for the federation layer. The main points of attention are trust, catalogue interoperability and policy orchestration, while preserving DSI autonomy and farmer data sovereignty through gradual onboarding.

For EMDS, the study confirms integration is feasible through Simpl-Open's mobility data federation capabilities. The main points of attention are identity, catalogue interoperability, and cross-border policy alignment, deployed through a phased onboarding roadmap.

EuroCloud

Additionally, wave-2 explored whether Simpl-Open is a viable technical foundation which can effectively support the implementation of the future European Public Sector Cloud Federation EuroCloud.
