From vision to practice Q&A
From vision to practice: celebrating key product milestones
This session reflected on the achievements of the past year and reviewed the current status of Simpl-Open, Simpl-Live, and Simpl-Labs.
We appreciate your opinion. The Simpl website is indeed our central hub for knowledge, resources, and collaboration, and we are committed to strengthening its role in building the community. At the same time, LinkedIn allows us to reach a broader audience, connect with members where they are already active, and attract new contributors who may not yet know about Simpl.
Our approach is to use both platforms in a complementary way: the website for deeper engagement and structured collaboration, and LinkedIn for visibility, outreach, and quick interactions. This combination helps us grow the community while keeping Simpl as the primary home for meaningful discussions and contributions.
Simpl-Open follows a number of standards and protocoles, such as Dataspace protocol. Currently Simpl-Open integrates EDC as a connector, but it could be replaced by another connector following the same protocol.
This is foreseen as part of Federation on the Simpl-Open roadmap: LINK.
The short answer is: yes, alignment with emerging EU harmonised standards is a stated intent, though the process is still ongoing.
The honest caveat is that JTC 25 work is still in progress, and some standards are not yet finalised. Full compliance can therefore only be confirmed progressively as the normative landscape solidifies.
We recommend monitoring the JTC 25 work programme and the Simpl roadmap in parallel to track convergence.
Simpl‑Open is not mandatory today. What will make Simpl‑Open truly indispensable is the quality of what it offers: clear and accessible Business Processes, broad coverage of typical data space requirements, practical tools, shared knowledge, and a strong community that helps people work smarter, faster, and more consistently.
The impact of the upgrade of the EDC connector is being analysed and planning will be provided once the subject is clarified.
